
Metal Fabrication & Welding students visited the Sheet Metal Workers Local 24 training facility. Students participated in hands-on training activities and heard from instructors about the Sheet Metal Workers "Earn While You Learn" Pre-Apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities.



KCCC seniors are able to earn the opportunity to take their career tech skills to businesses and industry during their senior year by meeting academic grade, attendance, behavior, and performance expectations in their career tech lab and academic classes.


Knox County Career Center (KCCC) will host Open House/First Chance Application Night on Thursday, November 21st from 4:30-6:30 pm.
This event will be open to the public. Business partners, alumni, and community members, along with current students and their families will be in attendance. In addition, current sophomores and juniors at our associate schools, along with their families, will have an opportunity to visit KCCC’s career tech programs.
Sophomores can visit any of our two-year programs. Juniors will have the chance to visit our senior-only program, Pre-Professional Mentorship. Students will have an opportunity to apply in person in the cafe. If students are unable to attend this event the application window will be open from 4:30-midnight by visiting www.knoxcc.org and clicking on “Apply Now”.
On the Rise Bar-B-Que and Buddy’s Local Eats (food trucks) will be selling food at this event. KCCC’s Culinary Arts students will be selling coffee and pastries out of the River Room Cafe and WNZR will be broadcasting on-site and doing live interviews. We will have a dunk tank featuring Mr. Riggle as we look to raise money for Knox County Food for the Hungry. KCCC swag will also be handed out during this event.

Ms. Andrea, a senior in Early Childhood Education (ECE), recently taught lessons on wild animals to our KCCC Preschool children!
Children learned that a wild animal is not tame and finds its home.
Some of the activities children participated in included:
-We had a wild animal hospital
-Created our own animals with dots
-Explored what wild animal that we would be
-Counting animals
-Matching animals with their letters
Students in ECE have fun preparing young children to enter kindergarten!


Students in Landscape Design & Management (LDM) mowed the lawn and cleaned up leaves around KCCC recently. Our LDM students do a great job taking care of the grounds of KCCC throughout the school year!

Students in Health Technologies learned how to perform a Venipunture in Phlebotomy class. Students will be eligible in nine weeks to sit for the CPT test and become a Certified Phlebotomist --- an in demand job!
Students in Health Technologies explore a wide range of health careers through practical lab experiences and a college science curriculum.

Ms. Kylee, a senior in Early Childhood Education (ECE), recently taught lessons on exploring space to our KCCC Preschool children! Children learned that we live on planet Earth and that there is no air or water in space.
Some of the activities children participated in included:
-Moon rock play dough
-Creating our own shape rocket
-Stamping stars
-Making our own galaxy
-We even had a space center in our classroom

KCCC's HVAC program hosted their Trick and Treats event. The Tricks and Treats event is a business/vendor show where the HVAC juniors and seniors learn the tricks of the trades. This is where students meet and greet local businesses and vendors to learn about new products and discuss things that happen on a daily basis in HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing. Students learn about new tools and products that they may see in the future, while talking to possible future employers. Thank you to all of our employers for making this event a success!!
