8th graders from Centerburg, Clear Fork, Danville, East Knox, Fredericktown, and Mount Vernon visited KCCC last week to learn more about Career Technical Education (CTE). It was great having the students in our labs! Thank you for coming!

Students in our Individualized Career Exploration (I.C.E.) program assisted with the set up for Columbia Elementary School's Thanksgiving Feast! Great job!!
Students in I.C.E. assist with various community events throughout the school year!

Students in the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at KCCC visited with Columbia Elementary children. Students had a chance to put together a Thanksgiving activity with children in Mrs. Scott's class. Our students then had the opportunity to join them for recess! Thank you to Mrs. Scott & Columbia Elementary School for having us out for the visit!

KCCC seniors are able to earn the opportunity to take their career tech skills to businesses and industry during their senior year by meeting academic grade, attendance, behavior, and performance expectations in their career tech lab and academic classes.

Students in Mrs. Swanson’s Astronomy class practice using astrolabes and compasses. The students constructed their own astrolabes to measure altitude and used compasses to find azimuth. These are two skills essential to any astronomy student!

Good luck to Danville tonight in the Regional Finals!!
The Blue Devils take on Eastern HS at 7:00 pm at Logan High School.

Knox County Career Center's library, led by Mrs. Jane Hall, collected new or gently used books for children whose homes & schools were devastated by Hurricane Helene.
Mrs. Hall led the charge at KCCC as teachers & staff donated 9 full boxes of books, along with some new workbooks and puzzles. Books ranged from toddler/preschool up to young adult/teen.
JC Auto, which makes a few trips a months to deliver donations, volunteered to deliver the books for KCCC.
Thank you to Mrs. Hall for organizing this effort and all the teachers & staff for their donations & support and to JC Auto for delivering the books!
