Career Fair Opportunity

Payson Chavis & Michael Minton, juniors in Precision Machining, learned Milling Machine setup as they learn to tram the head of a bed mill.
Students in Precision Machining work daily with the same advanced equipment and techniques as industry leaders.

Students in HVAC were given an introduction to the new HVAC units. Mr. Schmidt talked and guided students through the basics as they begin hands-on work.
Students in HVAC install, maintain, diagnose, and repair residential and light commercial heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and environmental controls.
Juniors in Culinary Arts learned basic knife skills and sauteing techniques. Students prepared sliced onions, minced garlic, concassed tomatoes and prepared a sauteed vegetable penne dish with a parmesan cream sauce.
Students in Culinary Arts plan, prepare, and cater meals for formal events and casual dining.
Coshocton Driver Training
Priority for Coshocton Driver Training School will be given to KCCC students. However, if all seats have not been filled within 2 weeks of the start date, students who do not attend KCCC will be accepted into the course. KCCC students are encouraged to sign up ASAP. Students who do not attend KCCC can get on the waiting list and will be notified if an opening is available.
Cost is $335 for in-class/in-car ($345 for non-KCCC students). Classes are available throughout the school year each month. All current KCCC students who are 15 years and 5 months can register for the class. Call (740) 552-1639 or email safedrivertraining@yahoo.com to register. Students will need to provide their first and last name along with their KCCC lab they are enrolled in.
The Knox Public Health Drive to Succeed Grant can support students who need assistance with funding. Any student who attends school in Knox County is able to apply for the Drive to Succeed Grant. All Knox County Career Center students are able to apply for the grant.

Seniors in Pre-Professional Mentorship visited the Children's Garden and played a team building game of 'count to 20'.
Pre-Professional Mentorship is a senior-only program at KCCC where students get to explore various career fields and college majors while making connections in local businesses.
Universal Technical Institute (UTI) was at KCCC this week to share information on options for technical training after high school.
All KCCC students will participate in the KCCC Mini College Fair on Monday, September 25 during the school day. Students will have the opportunity to talk with additional schools about post-high school training options.
All local families are invited to attend Knox County College Night on Monday, September 25 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Energy Fieldhouse in Mount Vernon.
Students in Sports Medicine & Exercise Science learned about the anatomy of the foot and ankle and then how to evaluate the foot and ankle for injuries. Mr. Taylor taught the next step in the process this week as they learned how to prevent injuries with the foot and ankle.
Students in Sports Medicine & Exercise Science apply physical therapy, injury recognition, and athletic training to enhance rehabilitation.
Students in Collision Repair worked on a panel project (repaired dents in the panel) and disassembled a GMC truck as another class project.
Students in Collision Repair design, paint, and refinish vehicles using modern welding, sanding, masking, painting, and creative airbrush procedures.
