KCCC's Preschool and Early Childhood Education (ECE) program held a fall math and science event prior to Thanksgiving Break. Parents learned new ways to teach math and science to their children at home. Our ECE students did a wonderful job with the Preschool children. James Lower, a Nurse Anesthetist, spoke to students in Health Technologies recently. He discussed careers in anesthesia and how anesthesia works. Excellent learning opportunity for our students!!
Zach Mullins (CollegeU-Business Class of 2022) recently visited to share with CollegeU juniors about his time in the lab, what he is doing now, and his future plans. After high school graduation, Zach enrolled at Mount Union University, where he is majoring in Finance. He is graduating with a Bachelor's Degree after only two years because of the degree he earned in CollegeU-Business. Currently, he is applying to law school and hopes to practice in the area of business law/taxes.
Mrs. Gray's Precalculus classes studied the unit circle and made unit circle hand turkeys for Thanksgiving!

CollegeU-Business, Computer Network Technology, Digital Media and Software Development, and Pre-Professional Mentorship students recently traveled to Columbus to attend the Business Professionals of America Blue Jackets Career Day. The students toured Nationwide Arena, skated on the practice rank, and participated in a panel discussion with professionals from the Blue Jackets organization. The panel had presentations from Marketing, Customer Relations, Broadcasting, and Ticket Sales. They answered questions about how credit card data is used, the sales process, career advice, and how to promote jersey sales.
Students in Precision Machining learned how to set up the CNC lathe. Students in Precision Machining invent, design, and manufacture the tools and components for a wide range of production needs.

Students from the Precision Machining program at Knox County Career Center (KCCC) visited Worthington Industries in Columbus on Friday, November 10.
Precision Machining students had the opportunity to see aspects of Tool and Die and got a close up look at heat treat furnaces in action at Columbus Steel. In the Worthington Industries Cylinder Division students got to see a product go from start to finish and got to view tool and dyes running in action.
Worthington Industries Human Resources Representatives spoke with students about the history of Worthington Industries, various job opportunities, the culture they live by, and the benefits of working there.

Knox County Career Center is now recognized as a Heart Safe School through Project ADAM and Nationwide Children's Hospital. KCCC has implemented a sudden cardiac arrest program which includes education, awareness, training, and emergency response to promote a safe environment for students, visitors, and staff; in accordance with the Project ADAM and Nationwide Children's Hospital designation requirements.
