A Peace Officer presentation was held at KCCC for students in Government. This presentation was held as part of the new curriculum at KCCC involving student interactions with peace officers.
The presentation covered proper interactions between police officers and civilians, specifically high school-aged children. A person's rights during any interaction with a police officer were also covered.
Students were able to see the tools police use and how they work as well as ask several questions. Each officer covered information about when a lawful order is made, what you should do, and what your rights are when you get pulled over.
Each officer also covered a multitude of things from traffic stops to jailhouse interactions.
We appreciate each officer coming to present to our students!
