What is the FAFSA? FAFSA/Financial Aid Presentation
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Application opens each year on October 1.
Use the FAFSA to apply for financial aid for trade school or college.
Step 1: Create an FSA ID: https://fsaid.ed.gov
The student and a parent each need a separate FSA ID.
Step 2: Complete the FAFSA: www.fafsa.gov
Don't think you will qualify for any financial aid?
Did you know many schools and local scholarships require that students complete the FAFSA before they will award the scholarships? Even if you don't qualify for Federal Aid, you may qualify for scholarship money when you complete the FAFSA along with scholarship applications.
Entrance/Placement Exams:
The research is clear--test preparation results in higher test scores. Prepare for (or at least look at) the test before you take it.
NOTE: If a student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, they may receive up to two free waivers for the ACT or SAT from their school counselor. Students must receive the fee waiver prior to registering for the test.
